Relief Society Broadcast

What a beautiful September day for the General Relief Society Meeting. And what a great opportunity for me to go with 2 very special ladies near and dear to my heart. Listening to the talks and music was truly inspired and you can feel in your hearts that these leaders are men and woman called of God. Each and every speaker said something that I really needed to hear. Thank you Jodi for the tickets!

It's in the blog title. I Hillary Hoggan am 21. I don't think it's really hit me yet, except for the fact that I feel darn old. Here I sit, layin in bed, in my Tennessee jammies (is that how you spell that??), listening to John Mayer in the back ground, and all I can keep thinking about is how I am the luckiest girl in the world. My birthday was beyond amazing! Filled with great company, which to me makes all the difference. Crazy how this time last year... I was thinking only one more birthday till he gets home! And how far away that next birthday seemed.. It has now come and gone. And this time next year I will be celebrating with my one and only.

It's just crazy.

I feel so overwhelmed with the love people have for me, that love I was able to see this week. It truly gives me the warm and fuzzies. I have the best friends and family! And I can't imagine celebrating my 21st birthday with any one else! Except Ky. But we have the rest of my birthdays in eternity for that :)

The Many Faces of Kyler

This would be a typical moment for us... Me trying to get a decent picture so I could later blog, scrapbook, frame, ect... Then Kyler.. Being well... Kyler :) I absolutely love this side of him! Makes me fall that much more in love with him. So glad I found these pictures!

One thing is certain. I love this kid, silly face and all. And I can't wait to make more faces like this when he comes home:)

Month Thirteen

Hangin in there. Yes yes I am. Bet ya didnt know this but... 13 is my favorite number. Ever. I always loved number 13 because no one else ever did.. Bet ya didn't know this either... this month was my hardest one yet. Funny how my lucky 13 failed me this time! It did go by just as fast though (surprise surprise) which is definitely a good thing. One thing is for sure though. I could not do any of this without my family, friends, and Savior. They are my support group and they are my cheer leaders. And I cannot even begin to express my appreciation for everybody that has helped me through the hard times. So here is one big...

THANK YOU!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every sweet text message, smile, phone call, and sincere words of wisdom just saying "hang in there!"

I truly couldn't do any of this, let alone be at my 13th month without any of you! Here's to the next 11 months! May they be just as great! Better buckle up and enjoy the ride :)

To My Best Friend :)

Let me tell you a little bit about my best friend. Aside from being beautiful, in great shape, tall, a great nanny, expert clean freak, smart, excellent guitar student, and an incredible comedian.. (sorry guys she's taken!).

She is my best friend. My other half.

And that alone means everything to me. To all of those reading this, this is a tribute to my best friend! No we are not sisters, and no we are not cousins (yes we get that all the time folks;) even though I truly think we knew each other before comin to this earth. What would I do without this girl? Recently... I had a very very hard week. I truly didn't know if this waiting was killing me or making me stronger... Without my best friend I think I just about gave up... But she has been here for me the whole time. Believing in me and cheering me on. And I'm happy to say I made it through this challenging week because of her :)

So BrookeAnn.. I just wanted to let you know that you are amazing. You are my rock. I wanted to thank you for everything you have ever done for me. You have always been there when I needed you, and you were always by my side when times got rough. I want to thank you for trusting me, and listening to me when I needed you to. I want to thank you for always making me laugh and putting a huge smile on my face! I cannot even fathom you ever leaving my life. We truly have a unique kind of friendship, one that most people don't get to enjoy. It's only been 6, almost 7 years since I met you, but it seems like its been a lifetime. And I can't wait to see what else will happen in our beyond crazy life as we continue to be there for each other forever.

Happy Hour

You know those nights you absolutely cannot sleep because 1. You have to many things running threw your mind 2. Not enough time to do any of these things the next day 3. So worried you have so much to do that you're going to end up forgetting at least one of these things. Yes. That would be me right about now. And can I just say how excruciatingly painful and awful it is just laying here... Knowing I have so much to do but can't accomplish any if it until the next day. This is pain people! So I have come to the conclusion I will blog.


Lately, I have been thinking of the little things that make me happy. Aside from the basic answers, family, Ky, friends, the gospel. I decided to narrow it down to three things that -really- make me happy. Three simple little things that make all the difference.

1. My Bed
2. Christmas Music (any season I'm telling ya)

And last but certainly not least
3. Happy Hour at Sonic

Give me any of these three and I'm golden. I'm not even kidding pure happiness right there. Let's just say Happy hour has been my hero the last three days in a row. Those days where you seriously just need a pick-me-up or a "you definitely deserve this" Sonic will always be there for me.

I have come to this though, I really promise I do have a point. Happy hour for me does not just have to be from 2-4. No my friends happy hour is every hour I am alive. Heck, happy hour can even be at 1:00 in the morning (whatiswrongwithme?) but only if I choose to be happy. It's all in my attitude... Then and only then can I be truly happy. Choose happiness, I promise you dont want it any other way.
